Beast of the East III - The Beast is on the Move

As Spring draws to an end and the heat of Summer is felt, the drums of War can be heard in the distance.  Melee season is upon us as the East prepares to join their favorite opponent as allies for Pennsic.  But there are those whose eyes remain fixed on the Tournament field.  And the growl of the Beast can not be suppressed.  It is time, for the return of Beast of the East!

Syrs Sterling and Rory answered the call three years ago to create a Tournament.  A Tournament like no other, one of epitomal prowess, of unrelenting endurance.  A tournament fit for the unbelts of the East Kingdom.  And the Unbelted fighters turned up in droves.  Now Syr Aaron the Swift, the inaugural winner and The Honorable Lord Thaddeus the Seer are names etched in Kingdom history.  June 7th.  Midland Vale.  Will the Kingdom remember your name?

BOE Format:
WELCOME TO THE BEAST OF THE EAST ULTIMATE TOURNEY!

Get ready to push your limits and leave it all on the field!  This tournament is built to test your endurance and challenge your true grit.  By the time you’re done, you’ll be drained, but you’ll also carry the unbeatable satisfaction of knowing you gave it your all.

This year, we’ve added a fresh twist to the tournament, so get ready for an unforgettable experience!

Here’s how it works:

Format:  This year’s format is based on last year's round robin—no pools, just pure action!
Round One:  All combatants are randomly matched up, and each bout will be fought once.
Winner gets 2 points
Loser gets 1 point
Double kills = 1 point each
Everyone fights until every combatant has faced each other.
After Round One, the top 16 scorers will move on to Round Two, another round robin.  But only the top 4 from Round Two will make it to Round Three.

What’s new this year:

While you’re fighting, the members of the Chiv will be battling in their own round robin to find their top 4, who will join you in Round Three!
Round Three:  Double elimination format.  8 combatants—lose twice, and you're out!

The Finals:
Best of three/five.  Here's how the weapon choices go:

The lower-scored combatant from Round One chooses the weapons for both combatants in the first bout.
The loser of the first bout chooses the weapons for the second bout.
To be decided on who chooses weapons
The fourth bout will be chosen at random.
For the fifth bout, bring your best!
Important:  Double kills count as dead.  In the event of a TIE—SHENANIGANS WILL ENSUE!
Important Note:  The format may be altered depending on time and number of combatants.

Sharpen your skills, get ready for an intense ride.

Rapier:  Space is available, will be updated once the format for the tournament is finalized, but do plan on fighting and plan on using your endurance!!

Archery:  There will be a very special shoot, designed for the celebration this day, bring your bow, bring your arrows, bring your accuracy and let us have a very special day!!  Details of the tournament will be revealed day of.  The range will be roughly 25-35 yards, in a safe to shoot inside range. 


The site is a sports complex, spread between three floors.  The lobby has a staircase to the upper field and lower field.  The lower field has handicap access in the form of a wheelchair capable electric lift over the stairs.  The upper field does not.
